I have finally finished inserting the page for this plugin.’
Feel free to visit that page and download the plugin (if you use an Opencart framework).
This is the last plugin I have created for the opencart system and I won’t create any new Opencart extensions in the near future… Probably 🙂
I am inserting the last opencart plugin I have created: “Remove Total Product Count on Categories”
==What does this extension do?==
Enhances the look of your site by removing the products qty ( quantity ) count [On the site it usually appears in brackets ] from the:
* Category module
* Category page (Removes the products count in the parenthesis at the “refine” section)
==How do I install the extension?==
It is a VQMod so it is as simple as it gets – just:
Copy the files in the “vqmod/xml” directory into the “vqmod/xml” directory of your server.
==Will I need to edit any core files??!==
This extention is based on VQMod so No changes to the database or any core/template file.
==Can I remove the total product count from some of the places retaining it on others?==
Yes you can.
You can choose where you want it to appear and where not.
==Can I see a demo site – the plugin in work?==
==What is vQmod ?==
==How can I uninstall the plugin?==
Just remove the vqmod files from the “vqmod/xml” folder on your server:
==Can I install the extension on several opencart stores?==
Yes, as long as they are truly yours and not your friend’s or client’s.
I have finally finished inserting the dedicated page for my new Opencart plugin.
This plugin is very important and useful, whenever you have a long page (scrollable) this plugin will add a nice “Jump to the top” icon which will jump to the top of the page whenever clicked.
I have created another Opencart plugin
–What does this extension do?–
Enhances your user’s experience by adding a gracefull scroll to the top When a user gets to any scrollable page (longer than the screen) on your site.
A nice icon (of a screen with arrows) will appear on the bottom right corner of the screen.
Upon clicking on the icon the screen will scroll itself beautifully to the top.
That’s it – Improves the user experience of your site – greatly.
–Will I need to edit any core files??!–
This extention is based on VQMod so just drop the files to their respective folders and that’s it!
No changes/updates to the database or any core/template file.
–What about future upgrades?–
I always update my extensions and whenever a new Opencart version is out I check for my plugin’s compatibility and update it if needed.
I have finished the “Remove Powered by Opencart” plugin into the site.
You can find it under the OpenCart plugins category.
This was actually my first plugin I have created for the opencart system.
And it is very simple but useful.
Today I am inserting a new Opencart extension I have created.
What does it do?
Removes the copyright message: “Powered By OpenCart” and its link from either or both of the following:
* Order message (At the bottom of the email the client gets after ordering something from your store).
* Footer of the site
This extention is based on VQMod so just drop the xml file to the vqmod/xml directory and that’s it!
Choose your pick:
– SEO (one link less on every page can really help seo)
– Site’s Visibility (Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder)
– Just because it annoys you…
— No changes to any core files
— Survives upgrades (upgrade your store – the extension will still work – no need to ‘babysit’ it)
— I will send an update email to the purchasers after any important update
Daniel doesn’t mind removing the “Powered by” ad, but he asks the users to be fair and donate to the script development – I think it’s a fair advice…
I have finished inserting the Optimize & Speedup opencart plugin.
This plugin uses the VQmod plugin framework built for Opencart.
All plugin details can be found in the plugin’s page under the Opencart category.
The first Open cart plugin to enter my site will be:
(VQMod) Optimize and Speedup your open cart ( great for SEO )
This plugin is very important to any opencart store owner if he has an opencart store versioned between: v1.5.0 – v126.96.36.199
If you have an opencart matching that version then this plugin is a must!
==What does this extension do?==
In a nutshell – causes your site to load faster.
Which enhances your customers’ experience of your site as well as satisfies some of google’s page-load speed-test algorithms,
which causes google to evaluate your site in higher respect (a faster site gets more authority from google since the “Panda” rollout)
which causes your site to appear higher in the search results!
Personally I think this extension is a MUST!! for any site owner, and especially to those stores which contain many categories/subcategories.
==How does the extension do it?==
It reduces the number of database queries done on any given page.
As a thumb rule, the more categories you have, the more load time is reduced using this extension.
For the specifics please go to the “Documentation” tab.
Please note that as a side effect – no quantity totals will be displayed near the category names (not a big loss IMHO).
Please look at the images to see the pages without the quantity counter.
==Will I need to edit any core files?!==
This extention is based on VQMod so just drop the file to its respective folders and that’s it!
No changes to the database or any core/template file.
I am now inserting a new plugin I have created for the Zen Cart eCOmmerce store framework.
My plugin is called Bestsellers Scrolling Images and changes this sidebox’s layout as follows:
- Added the product’s image
- Removed the numbering
- Display of the product name is beside the image (and not under image)
- Image display uses zen-cart image function (if you use Image Handler, it will be used here as well)
- Product price displayed using zen-cart function (will also show currency changes and specials pricing)
My plugin can be downloaded from the official zen-cart.com site (A link is presented in the plugin’s page in this site) and I support it via zen-cart.com’s official forums.
Finished inserting Contact Picker Library to the site.
Not many screenshots for this one though as it is a library and not a GUI application.
And I must thank Ngewi Fet for his great job on this library, I only helped him after he did the heavy lifting of the coding on this library.
