Java is a very well known programming language, object oriented and easy to understand and use.
As a very long standing (Mid 90s) programming language it gets the advantage of many years of use and sharpening.
In most of the polls of selecting the best programming language Java comes in the first five year after year.
Java was the first programming language I worked with, thus is high in my perspective and i find myself coming back to it for many of my projects.
